4200 Series Audio/DVD Video Suspect Interview Recorder
 
The NEAL 4200 Series is a range of audio video recorders specifically designed for Police and other law enforcement organisations. They combine the specific requirements of evidential audio cassette recording with the benefits of digital DVD recorders.
Built to the highest standard, the NEAL 4200 Series record two simultaneous audio cassettes and two DVD+ discs.
One audio cassette is sealed as a master, the second is used for transcription and copying purposes. The DVDs contain the audio and video images and can be replayed on most DVD players and computers.

Ease of Use

Ease of Operation Record and stop controls ensure simple operation of the complete system. If required DVD recording can commence prior to audio recording
Installation For an operational audio interview room, the addition of 1, 2 or 4 NEAL boundary layer microphones, 1 or 2 cameras and mains is required.
Remote Monitoring Audio and video monitoring are provided for supervisory and training purposes.
The monitoring is provided in accordance with relevant legal requirements.

Features

Interviews are recorded simultaneously onto audio cassettes and DVD.

Speaking clock announcement on audio cassettes is fully synchronised to video burnt-in time and VITC
(Vertical Interval Time Code) identifying each video frame every 0.04 second.

Microprocessor controlled self test and system diagnostics via LCD and alarms.

Audible time and date check facility.

Downstream (off-tape) monitoring of audio cassettes for verification that successful recordings have been made.

The recorder front panel features an LCD providing elapsed time for video and audio recordings.

The DVD recordings show an identification number corresponding to the interview room.

LED meters for audio recording levels of the microphone(s).

A dual 12V DC power supply to power the cameras is incorporated into the unit.

Remote audio and video monitoring connections are provided as standard.

Optional Items

Picture-in-Picture: The 4200 series can be supplied with a second camera input. This allows a close-up image to be recorded in addition to a wide angle of the entire interview room.

!The 4200 series can feature a LED which illuminates when the remote monitoring facility is in use.
An external wall mounted LED is also available.

A remote colour monitor with headphone socket is available to allow the visual and audible monitoring of the interview room.

For verification of the video image, the recorder can be equipped with a built-in colour monitor.

A receiver is available for connection to the recorder allowing it to be locked Rugby or GPS transmitted signals .

As standard the recorder is used with a single boundary layer microphone. If required the recorder can be supplied with up to four microphone inputs.

Triple audio cassettes and / or triple DVD recording (4300 and 4330 series).

An input is available for the time date generator to allow the system to be locked to Rugby or GPS
transmitted signals.

Alarm Conditions
If any one of the audio tapes or DVDs are absent when record is pressed, an alarm sounds with the message: No Media Audio A, No Media Audio B, No Media DVD1, No Media DVD 2 as appropriate.

The alarm sounds when the audio tapes, or DVDs reach the low media point (approximately 2 minutes before the end), or if an incorrect disk type is loaded (+R is suitable).

If a tape or disc reaches the end, or becomes jammed, the alarm sounds continuously. The display shows End of Audio A, End of Audio B, End of DVD 1, End of DVD 2, as appropriate.

If a tape breaks, the alarm sounds continuously. The display shows Media Fail Audio A, Media Fail Audio B, as appropriate.

If either DVD fails to record, the alarm sounds and the display shows Media Fail DVD 1, Media Fail DVD 2, as appropriate.

If the microphone(s) are not connected, or an audio channel fails, the alarm sounds and the display shows Audio Signal Fault.

If one of the video cameras fails, an alarm sounds with the mes sage Vdeo Input 1 Fault, Video Input 2 Fault, as appropriate.

If the video path fails within the DVD recorder, an alarm sounds with the message No Picture DVD1, No Picture DVD 2, as appropriate.

Eject Time: From end of recording to eject is typically one minute. For a very short recording, the maximum eject time is approx. four minutes.
